When someone is continually doing something right (ex: making every single basketball shot, getting consistent 100s on a test, making consistent gains on investments), we tend to use the term "He/she's on fire."
It's a new semester for me (and thousands and thousands of college students) in the US.
Before coming here, honestly I guess I felt like I needed to be ON FIRE in terms of studying and doing my best this semester.
Well, last weekend, there was a revival in my home church, and I really needed it. I realized I was too concerned about being on fire about studying and neglecting the fact that I need to be on fire with everything about me. I should first and foremost seek an intimate relationship with Christ and let everything about my life be all about that. Why? Because I remembered that a life following Christ is a blessing. It doesn't mean I'll become a millionaire and/or become famous (although*** some people do), but there is nothing else that will satisfy our question of "who am I? Why am I in the earth? Why do I live? Do I have a purpose?"
I'll admit I do not have the perfect answer. But I have confidence that in due time I will come to full realization to that. Until then, I gotta give 100% with everything.
In terms of school, it's just started. But I hope I will RUN.
***Correction: I wrote "almost" in the first entry. For one thing, it wouldn't be grammatically correct. For another, "almost some people" do not become millionaires.
